Description | The second Powell expedition entered Glen Canyon below the mouth of the San Juan on October 5, 1871; a long noon halt was called at Music Temple (Historical site 32). It is interesting to note that Powell had wanted to climb Navajo Mountain which came splendidly into view that day as the expedition rounded the sweeping curve in the river between mile 72 and 73 (Fig. 17).
