Description | the east fork of the Sevier River but Hamblin again met the war-minded chiefs near Moenkopie in January, 1874 and averted trouble. Since that time the relations between the Navajos and the whites across the Colorado have been peaceful. The extent to which the Crossing of the Fathers was used by the Indians after the peace of 1870 is not known. Jacob Hamblin crossed there at least once again when in September, 1871, he brought supplies to the second Powell expedition (see Little, 1881, 108....
