Description The purpose of this study was to provide constraints on the interaction between surface water and ground water near the New York Canal (NYC). To accomplish this, spatial distributions of key hydrochemical parameters were analyzed with respect to aquifer stratigraphy. Occurrence of tritium (3H) in most of the ground water samples taken from the upper 200 to 300 feet of stratigraphic section near the NYC provides strong evidence of rapid recharge of Snake River Group aquifers.
