Description Basin tillage (surface storage enhancement by soil roughening) has been shown to be effective in controlling runoff from small grain plots irrigated with application rates up to 115 mm/hr. and total applications up to 75 mm with a single line of low pressure spray sprinklers. A grain stand reduction problem encountered with the use of basin tillage was overcome with modification to the hanger arrangement on the double disc openers on the drill.
