Description The purpose of the research reported was to develop and apply techniques to obtain optimal solutions for multi-objective planning of a large irrigated area. Techniques were developed to effectively inventory a large area, determine the costs and operating characteristics of irrigation system components and obtain optimal system plans using mathematical programming.
