Description We examined the response of aquatic insects and juvenile rainbow-steelhead trout to flow related changes in habitat and assessed the predictive reliability of three hydraulic simulation models currently used in making instream flow recommendations. We conducted spring, summer and fall tests in two large, near natural artificial stream channels with run-riffle channel configurations. One channel was maintained at constant discharge while flow in the second channel was incrementally reduced....
