Description During the fall and winter 1979-1980 tests were conducted in a section of the Middle Snake River within Hells Canyon to determine the effects of hydroelectric power peaking on fall chinook salmon (Onchorhycus tshawytscha) embryo incubation and fry quality. Additional simulated peaking tests were conducted at Hayden Creek research station using artificial stream channels.
