Abstract There is a rapid shift towards urbanization all over the world. In developing countries like Pakistan, the urbanization process is under-planned leading to the haphazard growth of existing cities without enough resources to fit the needs of the residents. Cities in Pakistan lack good transportation systems, which creates inaccessibility to the already scarce resources and poses economic challenges for the country. In this study, we propose a modeling platform that exhibits characteristics of an economically driven, multi-modal transport system that addresses the needs of the society and fits with the overall goal of development for Pakistan. Some of the key aspects of transport design are placing sectors strategically so residents have access to all the resources of the city.
