Abstract The Rolodex Happenings, a fictional novella, compiles the contents of a Rolodex found by Guy Sutter, Jr. among his father's things after the occasion of his father's death. The text is framed by a short introduction to the Rolodex as a found object, which also includes a brief critical introduction to performance art Happenings in general. The remainder of the text consists of 44 Happenings recorded between 1960 and 1972 by Guy Sutter, Sr. Their contents (arranged not chronologically but thematically) range from an account of a baseball game played without a ball to a pre-arranged bar fight, culminating in the characters’ reactions to the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963.
