Abstract In 2012 Oregon State University hosted the Oregon Tribal Archives Institute (OTAI), a week long archival
education training opportunity specifically designed for Oregon’s nine federally recognized tribes. This
article describes the OTAI project development, organization, and implementation. The authors offer
various lessons learned that can be applied by others who wish to offer a similar archival education
institute.
