Abstract This thesis presents a matrix analysis of structures
with semirigid connections. The stiffness factor of a
connection has been assumed to be a constant as represented
by the initial relationship of moment versus
rotation. Three cases are considered: Case I - structures
with semirigid connections, column width and beam
depth considered; Case II structures with semirigid
connections, column width and beam depth neglected, and
Case III structures with rigid connections, column
width and beam depth neglected. Fixed end moments for
members with semirigid connections are also developed.
Results of the three cases are shown for a single-bay
two-story structure and results for Case II with
varied stiffness factors are shown for a single-bay
three-story structure. Solutions are found by the use
of a high speed digital computer. Computer programs
are shown in the appendices.
