Abstract In this paper the characteristics of multi-conductor transmission
lines have been investigated for a variety of termination conditions
by using the differential equations and matrix methods.
Equations showing the characteristics of traveling waves along loss-less
multi-conductor systems are derived.
Line parameters were evaluated by experiments and by calculations.
The results demonstrated the effects of coupling by applying
the system as filters and for determining crosstalk.
An application shows how a radiated power can be obtained
from a traveling wave antenna system by directional coupler characteristics
that occur when a two line system is terminated at all four
ports.
