| Description | The rapid growth in northern Utah County was forseen by the Central Utah Water Conservancy District in 1965 when it initiated studies in cooperation with local municipalities to determine future water needs through the year 2020. The Utah Valley Water Purification Plant, a result of those studies, will provide supplemental water to all municipal systems in Utah County from Provo to Alpine. Construction began in June, 1977 and the first water was brought through the plant on August 1, 1979. |
