Description In his book, Abraham Hoffman describes the historical controversy between Owens Valley residents and Los Angeles government officials over the Los Angeles Aqueduct. Hoffman endeavors to provide an objective view of the heated debate and provides a multitude of perspectives through the use of copious primary sources. Chapter five of book includes photographs of the aqueduct and important people connected with the aqueduct project. Book is part of a series on environmental history.
