Description The City of Los Angeles offers a little more than 5 million dollars for the cities of Laws, Lone Pine, Big Pine, Independence, and Bishop in order to settle its conflict with residents of the Owens Valley over the Los Angeles Aqueduct. Residents from the towns say that the offer is too low. Article describes the meeting held between residents and H. A. Van Norman, general manager of the Los Angeles water and power department.
