Description This document describes a monitoring system to assess grazing impacts on water quality in streams of the western United States. The protocols were developed to assess water quality improvement resulting from stream restoration projects funded under the Clean Water Act Amendments of 1987 and the Coastal Zone Management Act as amended in 1990. A companion document addressing upland monitoring methods will also be published (Bedell and Buckhouse, 1993. Monitoring primer for rangeland watershed).
