Note In 1977, the Port of Coos Bay wanted to expand its marina facilities at Charleston. One of the sites considered was an historically important clam bed. "Because of the importance of this tideflat to recreational clam diggers, we conducted a biological inventory of the clam flat during July 1977. Results of this survey are presented in this report." (from the Introduction) Note: although the title page carries the designation, "Information report 78-1," this title is not part of the "Information report series. Fisheries."
