Description The Bear River Drainage lies within three states (Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah). The receptor of the upper basin water is Bear Lake, which is a lake ecosystem of national importance. The lake contains four species of fish found nowhere else in the world and they are dependent upon the lake's high quality oligotrophic conditions (quoted and paraphrased from document). Previous investigations on the Bear River (314 Phase I, Bear Lake Regional Commission, 1985) and its tributaries above Bear Lake (Thomas Fork, Twin Creek, and Bridger Creek) (Figure 1-1) indicated mass gains (kg/year) for the nutrients nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as total suspended solids.
