The Town of Buena Vista (Town) has a limited water supply, although Cottonwood Creek runs through the center of Town and the Arkansas River borders the Town to the east. The Town’s water rights portfolio is entirely on Cottonwood Creek, and includes a reliable 10 cubic feet per second (cfs), or 6.46 million gallons per day (MGD) for the months of October to March, but only 3.88 cfs (2.51 MGD) senior water rights from April to September, which coincides with irrigation season.
