Description The specific project objectives were to: (1) evaluate by field lysimeters and pilot plots and augment by laboratory studies the feasibility of utilizing water reclaimed from sewage for irrigation under Hawaiian conditions; (2) assess the probable effects of surface-applied reclaimed water on groundwater quality particularly in terms of potential viral transmission and long-term buildup of solids; (3) evaluate the effects of various water quality parameters on the soil, percolation, and... The research reported herein was funded by the Board of Water Supply and the Department of Public Works, City and County of Honolulu, and was conducted with the cooperation of the Hawaiian Sugar Planters' Association and the Oahu Sugar Company.
