Creator Cheng, Edmond D.H.
Subject Soil percolation -- Mathematical models. Soils -- Hawaii. Finite element method. Soil moisture.
Description In attempting to numerically solve the nonlinear moisture flow equation, the Galerkin process, which bears a great similarity to direct methods of the calculus of variations, and the Continuous System Modeling Program (CSMP) approach have been employed. In the finite element formulation of the governing equation, systems of nonlinear algebraic equations were developed on the basis of linear two-dimensional triangular elements. These nonlinear algebraic equations were solved simultaneously, at... U.S. Department of the Interior Grant agreement Nos. 14-31-0001-3811,14-31-0001-4011, and 14-31-0001-5011
