| Description | "1411-1412 These pictures together with the two on the opposite page, form a panorama of operations being carried on at the canyon rim, on the Nevada side. Photograph was taken from the Arizona spillway site. To the left is shown the Black Canyon Highway. The high level mixing plant will be located behind the fill on the road. To the right is shown the highway extension road to the Nevada spillway. Note the shovel boom projecting at the site of what was formerly Lookout Point. August... In 1931, Utah joined Six Companies Inc. to raise the surety required to bid for the Boulder (Hoover) Dam contract. One of the world’s largest dams, Hoover Dam was completed in 1936 at a cost of $49 million.
