Description "A page of views of the low level concrete mixing plant and track hopper for gravel storage. The mixing plant is designed to accommodate six 4-cubic yard mixers, four of which are now being installed. When all six mixers are installed, the capacity of the plant will be 170,000 cubic yards of concrete per month, with a 16-hour daily operation. It is capable of producing 7 cubic yards of concrete per minute. # 730 View of the mixing plant under construction, looking upstream.... In 1931, Utah joined Six Companies Inc. to raise the surety required to bid for the Boulder (Hoover) Dam contract. One of the world’s largest dams, Hoover Dam was completed in 1936 at a cost of $49 million. These scrapbooks document through photographs the construction of the dam showcasing UCC's part in its creation. black and white photographs 4 x 5.3 in. or 8 x 4.8 in. paper background 10 x 13.5 in.
