Description In this presentation to the Mid-Cities Chapter of the Texas Manufacturers Association, J. Nelson Slater represented the views of the Citizens' Organization of a Sound Trinity. The proposed Trinity River barge canal would provide a cheaper alternative to the transportation of goods by rail and was perceived as a threat to the railroads.
