Description | One of a group of 46 slides depicting views of the Trinity River, Texas, from the collection of Ned Fritz. In the early 1970s, Fritz was campaigning with the group, Citizens' Organization for a Sound Trinity, to stop the canalization of the Trinity River. This slide depicts a bridge, presumably built at a height to accommodate the projected barge traffic on the rerouted Trinity. By 1973, seven bridges had been constructed in compliance with navigation standards. |
