The expenditures of United States money during the fiscal year amounted to $507,897.76, of which $65,038.97 was for maintenance (dredging by Clatsop, $55,143.25; repairs to St. Helens Dike, $9,895.72) and $442,858.79 was for improvement (construction and operation of two pipe-line dredges and auxiliaries).
