Description | The bowlder (clam-shell) dredge, belonging to the Cascades Canal, was repaired and fitted out, and worked down-stream at the upper bar, Her progress was slow from the worn condition of the friction apparatus. After making a narrow cut through the bar the dredge was withdrawn. The digging was a little harder than at the lower bar, but much less imbedded truck was encountered.
