| Description | RESULTS OF THE WORK ON RIVER IMPROVEMENT. Before any work on the river was done the worst places were Big Eddy Rapid at low stages and the Middle Block House Rapid at higher stages of water. It is believed that no steamer had been able to ascend the latter rapid at a higher stage that 15 feet above extreme low water, but a number of passages through both rapids hail been made at lower stages.
