Scanned images saved as 16 bit grayscale tiffs. 181.336 kb 8 bit - Gray Gamma 2.2 - greyscale Omnipage 14 used to OCR 8 bit tiffs and generate text files for full text access. 16 bit grayscale and 48>24 RGB color tiffs edited in Photoshop CS 8.0: cropped, rotated, reduced in size, levels adjusted, grayscale bit depth reduced to 8 and JPEGs created.
Description company barges concentrated spent sulfite liquor for discharge into the Columbia River below the junction of the Willamette River. This practice was initiated in 1953. The 1964 average BOD load discharged to the Columbia River between June 29 and November 1 was 60,000 pounds/day in an average volume of 373,600 gallons/day. The Boise-Cascade Paper Corporation (formerly the Columbia River Paper Mill), Vancouver, operates a 165 ton/day sulfite mill. Bleached pulp production is 159 tons/day....
