Description | INDIAN RAPIDS SITE Physical Description The Indian Rapids site is located four miles upstream from John Day Dam on the Columbia River (about R.M. 220), and is about 105 miles east of Portland, Oregon. The upper reservoir would be located atop a bluff on the south shore of the Columbia, just upstream from the confluence of the John Day River. It would be diked on all sides and would cover an area of about 400 acres. Geology of the site appears to be favorable for reservoir construction.... |
