Description | Indian Rapids. The Indian Rapids site (No. 564) is located adjacent to the Columbia River just east of the mouth of the John Day River (Subregion 7E). The upper reservoir would be located on a bluff, about 1000 feet above Lake Umatilla, the reservoir formed by John Day Dam.
