Description | The compact with the pollution control clause did not pass the Oregon Legislature in 1965 and the compact attempt was discontinued shortly thereafter. The Current Situation With the advent of the Environmental Protection Agency and the domination of the federal government in this field (albeit with involvement by state water quality agencies), it is very unlikely that a water allocation compact would address this issue as a central objective. |
