Scanned images saved as 16 bit grayscale tiffs. 316.326 kb 8 bit - Gray Gamma 2.2 - greyscale Omnipage 14 used to OCR 8 bit grayscale tiffs and generate text files for full text access. 16 bit grayscale tiffs edited in Photoshop 6.0: cropped, rotated, reduced in size, levels adjusted, bit depth reduced to 8 and JPEGs created.
Description the Oregon shore extends from the foot of Fivemile Rapids (mile 191) to the head of Celilo Falls (mile 200). The canal has a depth of 8 feet, bottom width of 65 feet, and length of 8.5 miles and contains four locks. A channel improvement project provides for a channel 7 feet deep and 150 feet wide at low water from Celilo Falls to Wallula (mile 314). This project is completed to Umatilla (mile 290).
