Scanned images saved as 16 bit grayscale tiffs. 307.254 kb 8 bit - Gray Gamma 2.2 - greyscale Omnipage 14 used to OCR 8 bit grayscale tiffs and generate text files for full text access. 16 bit grayscale tiffs edited in Photoshop 6.0: cropped, rotated, reduced in size, levels adjusted, bit depth reduced to 8 and JPEGs created.
Description Agriculture is of importance, however, along the western border of the mountains and in numerous broad, flat-floored valleys between north-south trending mountain ranges. Precipitation is adequate in some sections for farming without irrigation, but even there irrigation is practiced where water is readily available. Sizeable additions can be made to the irrigated area, but the most important future use of the area's great surface water resources undoubtedly will be for power production....
