The next morning, with an empty boat, I rowed the two miles up Bush River against a rather stiff current, and then wound my way up the crooked outlet of the lakes. Fishing all day, without even getting a nibble, I returned in disgust to my camp. The place was a hotbed of mosquitoes, and in the morning I broke camp, and with four miles of good going reached Surprise Rapids.
