Scanned images saved as grayscale and as 2 tone black and white multi-page tiffs. 540,517 bytes 8 bit - Gray Gamma 2.2 - grayscale Omnipage 14 used to OCR black and white multi-page tiffs and generate text files for full text access. Grayscale multi-page tiffs split with libtif tiffsplit script. Individual tiffs edited in Photoshop 6.0 : cropped, rotated, reduced in size, and JPEGs created
Description The Longest Jetty in the World. At the mouth of the Columbia River the United States government is building what will be the longest jetty ever constructed. It will also enjoy the distinction of being one of the very few public works whose ultimate total cost falls far short of the original estimates.
