Format | Scanned from black and white photocopies using Dosadi Acquire Version 2.57 on a Ricoh IS450se document feed scanner. Scanned images saved as grayscale and as 2 tone black and white multi-page tiffs. 430,827 bytes 8 bit - Gray Gamma 2.2 - grayscale Omnipage 14 used to OCR black and white multi-page tiffs and generate text files for full text access. Grayscale tiffs edited in photoshop: image cropped and rotated, reduced in size, levels adjusted for contrast from 0 - 1.00 - 255 to 39 - 0.95 - 255, and JPEGs created. |
Description | SCENES ON THE COLUMBIA RIVER, OREGON. We have been favored by Mr. H. H. Shank, of Hagerstown, Md., with the accompanying photographs and some notes of characteristic scenes on the Columbia River, Oregon, which were gathered during a recent tour in the far Western States. The traveled American whose journeyings have not been confined to the Old World, but include (as they too seldom do) a tour among the natural wonders of his native land, is impressed with the inconsistency of those people... |
