Title | Remains of the first Catholic Mission in the Northwest, Kettle Falls, 1938. |
Date | 1938 |
Description | Caption included with image: With its timbers rotting and nothing left except an outer shell, this Catholic Mission was constructed in the early 1800's by the missionaries. It is located high on a bluff overlooking Kettle Falls and will not be disturbed by the waters. It is contemplated that the area surrounding it will be made into a National Park and the building reconstructed because of its historical significance as the first of its kind in the northwest territory. |
